The Italy war occurred on July 10, 1943 and it started with 250,000 Allies land in Sicily. It was considered the largest water operation ever. The Italian army pushed back to Italy and they got tired of war so Mussolini resigns. On Sept. 3, 1943 the Germans send a army to Italy. Then on June 4, 1944 the Allies take over Rome which resulted in thousands being killed.

The Nazis built up along coast with 58 divisions but the Allies trick Axis. The sent a radio broadcast out to trick them. On June 6, 1944 in Normandy, France we invaded with 600 warships, 4000 support craft, and 11,000 planes. It was a success because Hitler still waiting at Calais and the Allies secure beach with 326,000 men, 50,000 vehicles, and 100,000 supplies.
